 NKWALI
CAMP - South Luangwa NP
Nkwali Camp is located on Robin Pope’s
private land overlooking the Luangwa river and the National
Park. This is superb game viewing country with a beautiful
area of ebony woodland and open grass plains.
 There
is accommodation for 12 guests in cool and spacious ensuite
chalets made of thatch and woven bamboo and all with
excellent views of the river.
Elephants often cross the river and guests
can observe them from the large thatched bar and loun ge
area on the main terrace above the river.
The area is also renowned for giraffe and
leopard sightings.
The thatched dining room sits in a parkland
of large riverine trees and is located quite close to a
waterhole that often attracts game during breakfast.
 Activities
from this camp are focused on walking, game drives and night
drives. Nkwali Camp serves as the main logistics base for
all of Robin Pope’s safaris and is the starting point for
mobile walking, Nsefu walking and mupamadzi safaris.
The camp is also home to the team of
permanent office staff who deal with reservations and
management in the valley.
