KWENA LAGOON CAMP - South Luangwa NP

Kwena Lagoon Camp is new and due to open in July 2009 on the site of the former Luamfwa Lodge in a remote south-west area of the South Luangwa National Park, well away from Mfuwe – in fact 20 minutes by plane.

The camp comprises eight safari style tents, each ensuite with both an indoor and an outdoor shower.

The camp’s dining and bar area under a canopy of giant ebony trees and a pool and viewing deck area located to the side of the camp all offer spectacular views of the lagoon that may once have been part of the Luangwa river.

Kwena (meaning crocodile) is about 15km west of it’s sistercamp, Kalamu Tented Camp.
