About the founders of Bush Buzz 

Bush Buzz, your Zambian-based Safari Tour Operator was founded in 2003 by an adventurous Dutch couple, Bas and Nathalie van Soest.

Their passion for Africa brought them back to Zambia where they now hope to share their experience and hospitality with you. 
Over the past 15 years Bas has travelled extensively on the African continent.  He is fluent in English, French, and German and Dutch is his native language. Bas personally guided most of the tours in the past, but has now moved into the bush and together with Nathalie, manages a lodge in the north eastern corner of the Kafue National Park.  

Nathalie was born and brought up in Zambia. She travelled in Australia and Asia before settling in Europe for several years. She returned home in 2002, and set up the Bush Buzz office in Lusaka. She now enjoys bush life with Bas and their daughter Natasha. Nathalie is fluent in English and Dutch. 

Their young daughter Natasha, first introduced to the bush at the tender age of 8 weeks, is fast developing a keen interest in the bush and it’s wonders & will no doubt one day be a valuable asset to Bush Buzz! Natasha is fast learning English, Dutch, Nyanga & Kaonde.  

 
 
About Bush Buzz  

Since 2003 we have focused on designing and conducting specialized safaris throughout Zambia. Having personally lead most of the safari-expeditions, our experiences enable us to give you excellent first-hand knowledge and advice on travel within Zambia.  

 
In May of 2005,  Bush Buzz opened a bookings & reservations office in “Manda Hill”, the most popular shopping centre in Lusaka. Our capable team of consultants have visited many of the lodges themselves and are well informed about the various establishments and the activities they offer and the areas they are found within.  

At our booking office, we hold a comprehensive database filled with information & up to date photographs encompassing the various sectors of the tourism industry ranging from the luxurious retreats to the simpler, self catering camps.  
 
So even if you are not in need of a complete safari package, but simply require assistance making a reservation at one of Zambia’s hotels or lodges, then Bush Buzz is at your service once again. We are kept regularly updated on the latest specials and rates offered by operators throughout Zambia! 
 
Our office can also assist you with renting a car and booking domestic flights as well as to destinations such as Johannesburg, Harare & Dar-es-Salaam.

Whether it is a day off, a long weekend or a two week holiday, we can put together a programme or tour to suit your requirements and budget. As our office is open 7 days of the week, we can be of service to you at any time.

A variety of activities can be offered during trips or outings arranged by us, some of which are included and others which are offered as optional. Activities include game-viewing, guided walks, birding, fishing, lepidopteric expeditions, river cruises, white-water rafting, festivals and cultural events, archaeological and historical outings. When putting together your itinerary, we do our best to establish your interests and discuss with you what kind of activities and outings would suit you most.

Of course there are always certain risks involved in any kind of travel . Although Bush Buzz and the operators they work with, will at all times make an effort to limit these risks, every participant is obliged to have a full travel insurance.  Thanks to modern day technology, many operators in Zambia have internet connections at the lodges and many even have satellite-phones in order to be able to contact the outside world, anytime, anywhere.

With the knowledge that mankind plays a large role in the deterioration of Mother Nature's assets, we Zambian operators  take our responsibility very seriously and do our best to uphold a high level of eco-friendly dynamics in our establishments and activities undertaken. 
 
During our safaris the interest of, and our interest for the local people and animals always comes in the first place. 
As we are a Zambia based operator we contribute directly to the local economy and eco-tourism initiative.

Bush Buzz, by its dynamic way of operating, is not limited to any season or area in which to conduct its activities. Bush Buzz makes use of all the resources that Zambia has to offer to its visitors. 
 
We feel that good hospitality is more than just a comfortable bed to sleep in and a good meal to still the appetite. Given the distances covered during safaris, Bush Buzz works together with operators that provide transportation which ensure the maximum comfort and safety whilst travelling.  
 
We have learned that the distinction between a good expedition and an outstanding expedition lies in the details. This attention to detail begins with the design of the itinerary and continues through the selection of lodges and camps we book you into, as well as activities and excursions we recommend. Having personally visited most of the destinations we offer in our packages, and due to our meticulous planning, we have managed to establish a reliable network and the highest standards for our packages in Zambia.
